Tip and Tricks for Making Bread Bowl Spaghetti

  • Hollow The Bread Carefully: When cutting out the middle, leave a thick enough edge (about 1 inch) to support the contents without collapsing or leaking through.
  • Choose The Correct Bread: You want a bread with a thick crust, like a sourdough boule or French bread, that can hold the weight and moisture of the spaghetti.
  • Timing Matters: Bread bowls can become soggy if they sit too long with the sauce. Serve them right after filling for the best texture.

How To Store Leftovers

  • Separate the spaghetti from the bread bowl before storing. The moisture from the pasta will make the bread soggy if stored together.
  • Wrap the bread bowl in aluminum foil or place it in an airtight container.
  • Place the spaghetti in an airtight container and refrigerate it. It can last for about 3-5 days in the fridge.
  • When you are ready to warm up everything, toast the bread bowl in the oven until it’s warm and crispy, and reheat the spaghetti on the stovetop or in the microwave.

 FAQ

  • Where do I find Italian bread boules? I always get mine from the Walmart bakery. They are always fresh and super cheap where I live.
  • Can I use leftover spaghetti for this recipe? Yes! If you have leftover spaghetti from a few nights ago, this is the perfect way to elevate supper time while finishing off those leftovers.
  • How do I keep the bread from getting soggy? The best way to prevent the bread from becoming soggy is the serve it immediately after making.
