skillet of bacon cheeseburger tortellini

This Bacon Cheeseburger Tortellini is always a huge hit in my house. It can be made in less than 30 minutes, and it is truly a 5-star meal. It features delicious ground chuck, chopped bacon, sauteed onions, minced garlic, and diced tomatoes combined with cheesy tortellini in a creamy cheese sauce.

Ingredient List

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 6 slices of bacon, cooked and chopped
  • ½ yellow onion, diced
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 14.5-ounce petite diced tomatoes, drained
  • ½ cup heavy whipping cream
  • 3 cups cheddar cheese
  • 12 ounces cheese tortellini

How To Make Bacon Cheeseburger Tortellini

To make this Bacon Cheeseburger Tortellini start by bringing a large pot of water to boil and cooking the tortellini per the package instructions. Then you will drain the pasta and set aside. To prevent the pasta from sticking add a couple drops of olive oil while it is cooking. Then, in a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the slices of bacon until they are crispy. Let the bacon slightly cool and chop it into small pieces.

Next, in the same skillet add the chopped onions and let them sauté for 2-3 minutes. Then, add the minced garlic and cook for 30-45 seconds or until fragrant. Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until you see no visible signs of pink within the meat.

Now, drain all the grease from the meat and place it back into the skillet. Add heavy whipping cream, 2 cups of cheese, chopped bacon, drained can of tomatoes, and stir to combine. Over low heat, allow it to come to a simmer and stir until the cheese has melted.

Then, add the tortellini and stir until well combined. Finish by sprinkling 1 cup of cheese on top and garnishing with any leftover bacon. Cover and allow the dish to simmer on low heat until cheese has melted. Then allow it to cool for 10 minutes and get ready to enjoy this Bacon Cheeseburger Tortellini.
