These Lemon Pepper Chicken Skewers are a quick and easy recipe that will satisfy the whole house. They feature juicy chicken cooked on skewers and basted with a delicious zesty lemon pepper sauce. This recipe can also be made in the oven or on the grill which makes them perfect for everyone.

To start, you will need to preheat your air fryer or oven to 400 degrees. Then you will prep your chicken. I prefer to use boneless chicken breast when I make skewers, but you can use whatever cut of chicken you prefer. So, start by cutting the chicken into 2-inch size pieces and placing the pieces into a mixing bowl. If you are using an air fryer, measure the skewer and make sure it fits into your air fryer. If it’s too long, then cut it in half. Also, if you are using wooden skewers soak them in water for 15-30 minutes prior to cooking.

Next, add olive oil and stir the chicken around to coat each piece with oil. Season with 1 teaspoon of lemon pepper seasoning, ½ teaspoon of paprika, 1 teaspoon of garlic powder, and 1 teaspoon of onion powder. Now, stir the chicken until every piece is coated with the seasoning.

Lemon Pepper Sauce

To make the sauce, place the butter into a microwave-safe bowl and cook for 30 seconds. Stir the butter around until the solid pieces are fully dissolved. Add ½ teaspoon lemon pepper seasoning, ½ teaspoon of honey, ¼ teaspoon parsley, a pinch of fresh lemon zest, and 1 teaspoon of fresh lemon juice. Stir until well combined and set aside. You will notice as the sauce sits it will start to solidify, which is going to give it the perfect texture for basting.

Cooking Methods

Thread 7-8 pieces of chicken onto each skewer. Place the skewers into the air fryers and cook for 6-8 minutes. Rotate the skewers and cook for an additional 6-8 minutes until the internal temp reaches 165 degrees. If you are using an oven place the skewers on a parchment-lined baking sheet and cook for 20-25 minutes. Flip the skewers half-way through. Once the chicken is fully cooked, transfer the skewers to a plate and bast them generously with the lemon pepper sauce. Allow the chicken to slightly cook and enjoy these Lemon Pepper Chicken Skewers!
