How To Make Meat Lover Pizza Spaghetti
Start by preheating the oven to 350 degrees. Then bring a large pot of water to boil and season the water generously with salt. Add the spaghetti noodles and cook them until al dente. Drain the pasta and mix in a little olive oil to prevent it from sticking.
In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the ground beef (or Italian sausage if you prefer that instead) and the diced onions. Brown the meat until no pink is visible then soak up any excess grease using a paper towel. Season the meat with Italian seasoning, onion powder, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Mix until combined then set aside a small amount of meat for the topping.
Add the jar of pizza sauce, pasta sauce, cooked pasta, 1 cup of bacon and 20 pepperoni slices then mix until well combined.
Pour the pasta mixture into a 9×13 baking dish and sprinkle mozzarella and parmesan cheese on top. Then sprinkle the ground beef you set aside and place 10 pepperoni slices on top as well.
Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the casserole is bubbly. Allow to cool for 10 minutes then serve and enjoy!
FAQ
Can I use marinara sauce instead of regular pasta sauce?
- Yes! You can use your favorite brand of marinara sauce in place of regular pasta sauce. I highly recommend not substituting the pizza sauce because that is what gives it the great pizza flavor.
How do I store leftovers?
- Store any leftovers in an airtight container and eat within 3-4 days. If you don’t have an airtight container for storage, then you may also wrap the baking dish with aluminum foil or plastic wrap and store it in the refrigerator. This method reduces how long it can be safely consumed so eat it within 2-3 days.
What sides should I serve this with?
- This recipe pairs well with garlic bread and simple side salad. Those are my go-to’s for this dish!
