Ingredients
- 2 pounds ground beef
- 1 box cornbread Stove Top Stuffing- Cornbread flavor
- 2 eggs
- 1 Au Jus packet
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon pepperoncini juice
- 3-4 pepperoncini peppers
- ½ ranch seasoning packet
- 3 ½ cups water
How To Make Mississippi Salisbury Steaks
First, in a large mixing bowl add cornbread flavored Stove Top Stuffing and 1 cup of water. Stir and allow the stuffing to soak up the water. Then, add ground beef, eggs, garlic powder, onion powder and mix it together with your hands until well combined. Next, form the meat into medium-sized patties and set aside.
Then, in a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the patties and allow to cook 6-8 minutes on each side depending on how well done you prefer. Once they are cooked to your liking, remove them from the skillet and set aside. Then, remove any excess grease from the skillet.
Next, in a large mixing bowl, add a packet of Au Jus gravy mix, ½ packet of Ranch seasoning, and pepperoncini juice. Add 2 ½ cups of water and whisk together. (If you want thicker gravy add 2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour to the mixture as well.)
Then, add the mixture to the skillet over medium-high heat. Throw in the pepperoncini peppers and allow the gravy to come to a simmer. Make sure to stir occasionally so that it doesn’t burn. Finish by adding the steaks to the skillet and turn off the heat. Serve and enjoy the Mississippi Salisbury Steak.
