Biscuits & Sausage Gravy Casserole

Ingredients

  • 1 pound Breakfast Sausage
  • 2 tablespoon Butter
  • ¼ Cup All Purpose Flour
  • 2 ½ cups Whole Milk
  • 6 Eggs
  • 3 teaspoons Dan-O's Original Seasoning
  • 1 16 ounce can of Biscuits cut into 6 pieces each
  • ½ cups Mild Cheddar Cheese shredded

Instructions

  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the breakfast sausage and cook until no pink is visible then reduce heat to low and add in the butter. Once melted add the flour and stir together until the flour is fully dissolved. Stirring occasionally, allow the roux to cook for 2-3 minutes then pour in 2 cups of milk. Season the gravy with 2 teaspoons Dan-O's Original Seasoning and stir until it comes to a simmer and thickens up.
  • In a separate mixing bowl crack the eggs, add ½ cup of milk and 1 teaspoon of seasoning. Whisk until well combined and set aside.
  • In a greased 9x13 baking dish scatter the cut up biscuit pieces evenly and pour the egg mixture on top. Then pour the sausage gravy on top and sprinkle on the shredded cheese. Bake at 400 degrees for 30-40 minutes until the eggs are set and biscuits are fully cooked.
