Meat Lovers Pizza Tortellini

This Meat Lovers Pizza Tortellini is the perfect family-friendly dish! It features three cheese tortellini combined with delicious pizza sauce and topped with Italian sausage, ground beef, bacon, pepperoni, and melted mozzarella cheese.

Ingredients

  • 12 ounces tortellini pasta
  • ½ pound Italian ground sausage
  • ½ medium yellow onion diced
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup cooked chopped bacon
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Sliced pepperoni
  • 24 ounces pizza sauce

Instructions

  • Start by bringing a large pot of water to boil, add the tortellini and cook per the package instructions. Once cooked, strain the water from the pasta and set aside.
  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat add olive oil and diced onions. Sauté the onions until they start to become soft (3-5 minutes). Add ground beef and Italian sausage to the skillet and cook until brown and no pink is visible within the meat. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 additional minute or until it becomes fragrant. Season with Italian seasoning and a pinch of salt, if needed. Drain the grease from the meat, place the meat back into the skillet, and add the chopped bacon to the skillet.
  • Add the jar of pizza sauce and the cooked tortellini on top of the meat (set 1/2 cup of meat aside to garnish the top) and stir to combine. On low heat, bring to a simmer. Top with mozzarella cheese and pepperoni. Cover with a lid and turn off the heat. Allow the steam to melt the cheese. Serve and enjoy!
