Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and place butter into the bottom of a 7x11 baking dish and place it in the oven until fully melted. Then in a large bowl add the blueberries and ½ cup to 1 cup of white sugar. Toss until the blueberries are coated in sugar and set aside.
In a medium bowl add the self-rising flour, ½ cup white sugar, brown sugar, milk, vanilla extract and whisk together until no lumps are present within the flour mixture.
Remove the casserole dish from the oven and then pour the flour mixture on top of the melted butter. Next pour the blueberries on top and do not stir. Sprinkle some ground cinnamon on top. Bake at 350 degrees for 45- 50 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
Allow the cobbler to slightly cool and serve while warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Notes
You may use fresh fruit, frozen or fruit filling for this recipe. If you use frozen, I always allow them to thaw prior to baking. If you are using fruit filling use a 21 ounce can
